No. Hummingbird Cottages is available as a whole-property rental only — both cottages together for up to 4 guests. This ensures your group has complete privacy during your stay.

The property sleeps up to 4 guests across two one-bedroom cottages (2 per cottage). Hummingbird Cottages is rented as a whole property only. For weddings and events, the covered veranda accommodates up to 30 guests, and the tropical yard can host barefoot ceremonies of up to 100 guests.

Pool heating is an optional add-on available for $250 per week — ideal for winter visits between November and March. The pool is unheated by default. Be sure to request this when making your enquiry if you'd like it included.

Yes. The property has redundant high-speed internet — both Starlink satellite and fibre broadband — so connectivity is rock solid even during busy periods. WiFi is included at no extra charge.

Yes. Hotel-quality bed linens and bath towels are provided and included in your rental rate. Beach towels are also available at the property.

Yes. A dock slip for vessels up to 35 feet is available as an add-on for $250 per week. Request this when making your booking enquiry.

Standard check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out may be available subject to occupancy — please enquire with Elbow Cay Properties in advance of your arrival.

Yes. The management team can connect you with local provisioning services to have your cottage stocked with groceries and essentials before you arrive. There is also a grocery store within walking distance of the property for anything you need during your stay.

Fly into Marsh Harbour Airport (MHH) in Great Abaco — direct flights from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, and other US hubs. A short taxi ride brings you to the G&L Ferry dock; the ferry runs to Hope Town in approximately 20 minutes. Check the current schedule at gandlferry.com. Disembark at the post office dock where your caretaker will meet you for the 200 ft walk to Hummingbird Cottages. Alternatively, fly into Treasure Cay Airport (TCB) or arrive by private boat. No — there are no conventional cars on Elbow Cay. Golf carts, bicycles, and boats are the primary modes of transport, which is a big part of the island's relaxed charm. Hummingbird Cottages is within easy walking distance of Hope Town's restaurants, shops, and the lighthouse.

We recommend booking through Loyalist Living, who offer 2025 white electric four-seater Club Cars available to reserve online before your arrival. Booking in advance is strongly recommended during peak season.

Peak season (November–April) offers the most reliably beautiful weather — mid-70s°F, minimal rain, and pleasant trade winds. This is also when the property books fastest, so reserve early. Summer visits (May–October) offer lower rates and a quieter experience, with warmer temperatures and occasional afternoon showers. The Bahamas sit within the Atlantic hurricane belt (June–November), though direct hits on the Abacos are historically rare.

Yes. Couples marrying in the Bahamas must obtain a Bahamian marriage licence from the Registry General. Many couples apply ahead of their trip; a local officiant can guide you through the process. Our management team can provide referrals for experienced local officiants who handle this regularly.

Yes. You're welcome to hire your own vendors. Our management team can also provide trusted referrals for experienced local caterers, florists, photographers, and musicians who know Hope Town well — which can simplify the logistics of planning a destination event considerably.

Smoking is not permitted inside the cottages. Please check with Elbow Cay Properties regarding outdoor smoking policies at the time of booking.

As a residential community, Hope Town asks that guests be respectful of neighbours, particularly late in the evening. Specific quiet hour policies will be provided by Elbow Cay Properties in your pre-arrival information pack.

A $2,000 security deposit is held against accidental damages during your stay. The deposit is fully refunded after departure, provided no damage has occurred. Any damage exceeding the deposit would be invoiced separately. The property manager will carry out an inspection at check-out.
