One of the Bahamas' most storied and beloved Out Island communities — just a short ferry ride from Marsh Harbour.
Hope Town is a small, historic settlement on Elbow Cay in the Abacos — an archipelago of islands off the north-eastern coast of Great Abaco in the Bahamas. Founded by Loyalist settlers in the 1780s, Hope Town has retained its colonial charm and a pace of life that the modern world seems to have forgotten.
The town is famous for its iconic candy-striped red-and-white lighthouse — one of the last hand-operated kerosene lighthouses in the world — its rainbow of pastel-painted clapboard homes, and its crystalline turquoise waters. Golf carts replace cars here; the streets are made for strolling.
Hummingbird Cottages is located right in the heart of Hope Town, an oceanfront retreat with direct beach access and everything the village has to offer just a short walk away.
